Sales ENGINEER

Why we need you

WAZER has created the world’s first desktop waterjet, bringing the possibility of professional-grade fabrication to every workshop. WAZER is growing, and in order to achieve our ambitious customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives we are expanding our inside sales organization. Working at WAZER in this role, you will have the opportunity to be the face of WAZER to our growing, worldwide, customer base. As a Sales Engineer, you will work with inbound leads, qualify opportunities, and close sales.

YOUR DAILY ROLE

  • Manage your own pipeline of direct-sales opportunities and interact with a wide variety of leads from every industry in the manufacturing sector, with companies of all sizes and for all sorts of applications. In one day you might speak with a manufacturing engineer from an automotive supplier, an owner of a machine shop and an individual glass artist.
  • Own the relationship with sales opportunities from the moment they become an inbound lead to the point when the sales is closed, serving as both the technical product expert and the salesperson.
  • Communicate with leads primarily over the phone and via email. Respond rapidly to new inbound inquiries and follow up thoroughly to move the deals forward.
  • Employ a solution-selling methodology in your engagements with opportunities, always probing to understand the customer’s need and demonstrating how our solutions add value to them.
  • Conduct 1-on-1 live demos over zoom where you operate WAZER waterjets and show the leads how our products work.
  • Operate WAZER machines to cut samples for your deals, oftentimes using custom materials and designs that they have provided for you.
  • Utilize Hubspot, WAZER’s CRM, for all of your interaction with leads.
  • Close sales, generate revenue and earn a commission on deals that you worked.
  • Document the investigations you’ve performed to convince a lead that WAZER is a good solution for them. Convert this content into sales enablement tools for the sales team to use in future interactions.
  • Recommend, design and implement sales system improvements to make the sales team’s work more efficient.
  • Participate in the company’s exhibitions at industry trade shows, including travel, setup/breakdown, staffing the booth and engaging with visitors.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Manufacturing and fabrication knowledge. You need to know how things are made, so that you can understand a lead’s challenges and requirements and can assess whether or not WAZER will work for their application. So you’ve done some or all of the following: spent time in a machine shop, designed and built prototypes, used metalworking equipment, used digital manufacturing tools, used engineering CAD software.
  • Previous experience in an inside sales environment with a technical product.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and CRM software.
  • Comfortable performing live demos over Zoom, and in person.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent phone skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong listening and presentation skills.
  • You are excited to learn about WAZER, and can share that enthusiasm with our customers..

About the Role

  • Opportunity to grow in your sales career as the WAZER Sales Team expands.

COMPENSATION

Compensation includes salary, performance-based commission, equity, paid time off and health benefits.

LOCATION & ENVIRONMENT

You’ll be working in an environment that is simultaneously our office, ideation studio, research lab, workshop, and final product assembly center, all under one roof.  This allows us to collaborate and learn each other’s area of expertise, providing better solutions to our customers.

Our facility becomes a playground in the off hours. You are encouraged to design, make, and work on whatever personal projects you may have at the time. You will see electric vehicles, race car parts, plants, and art pieces around the office. Who knows what inspiration we use for the next problem we need to solve at WAZER!
