Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) engineers perform a vital role within any organization, as they measure the quality of both raw materials and production processes against a strict set of established standards. These tests require cutting test samples out of raw materials, or out of finished goods. There are a host of cutting technologies available, however most come with significant limitations.
By utilizing small waterjet cutters for quality control, the QA/QC is streamlined because waterjets can cut any material, and more importantly, the test results are more accurate due to the “cold cutting” process, which does not alter the physical properties of the subject material being tested.
This story in Quality Digest discusses the impact that compact and affordable waterjet cutters, such as the WAZER, can have on QA/QC.
