Jim’s Automotive Machine Shop was hired to rebuild a classic 1968 E-Type Jaguar engine as part of a larger numbers-matching restoration project. This required a significant rebuild of the straight-six head. To maintain precise alignment of the head during the entire rebuild, they needed a custom-built fixture to hold the cylinder head.
This video shows how their WAZER waterjet cut the pieces for the custom fixture, including curves that were cut to provide clearance around the cylinders. By designing and creating the custom fixture, Jim’s could deliver a quality engine rebuild.
